Over the past few years of attending School Board meetings, I have had the privilege of making public comments at both Committee of the Whole (COW) meetings and Regular Board meetings. During these meetings, I addressed several important issues, including Dual Degree programs, AP classes, and Dual Credit classes—highlighting their advantages and disadvantages. I also raised concerns about School Safety, Staff Retention, Standards-Based Grading, and the challenges and opportunities of e-learning, among other topics.

This news clip features a few seconds of my public comment at the March 10th, 2023 School board meeting. Where I publicly advocated for stronger security measures and increased transparency from the board after a student brought a handgun to school, and a lockdown was not called. I also organized a student walkout in protest to the lack of accountability, remorse, and concern for safety. While I am grateful that no students were physically harmed, the emotional impact on many students, staff, and the community continues to be felt to this day.
